Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in Valhalla is kicking off a car seat safety check event to prevent and reduce the number of children injured in car accidents.
The hospital says 10% of children admitted to the hospital are children injured in car accidents.
Summertime means road trips and travel, which means plenty of time spent in the car. Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in Valhalla wants to make sure all that car time is safe for children.
According to Pediatric Trauma Director of Nursing John Fisher, hospital officials during the event will make sure car seats are appropriate the child, that the seat is not expired and that it is positioned properly.
