A memorial was held for fallen firefighter Jared Lloyd Friday in Spring Valley.
The gathering outside Spring Valley Village Hall paid tribute to the firefighter who died trying to save others in a fire at Evergreen Court Assisted Living Facility.
News 12's Beth Cefalu was at the memorial and said most Rockland County lawmakers were in attendance to pay tribute to Lloyd.
The memorial also honored and thanked other first responders and all first responders for not just responding to that call but every call.
Lloyd died early Tuesday morning after flames erupted at the senior living center. He was one of the first people to go into the building as responders saved more than 100 residents.
One resident also died.
Lloyd was 35 years old and was a volunteer firefighter. He leaves behind two children and a wife. A GoFundMe to support his family has so far raised more than $400,000.
