A Middletown grandmother has pleaded guilty to beating her own granddaughter.        

News 12 was first to report about the disturbing case when it happened in February of last year.

Now, prosecutors say Kimberly Bennett has pleaded guilty to assault in the attack on the 7-year-old.

The child suffered serious injuries to her brain and eyes and was left blind.

Bennett will be sentenced in January.
