After a fire destroyed a Middletown movie studio last year, the owner is not letting the curtain close on his vision.
Studio II burned down last November. According to officials, the fire was accidentally started when infrared heaters ignited plastic totes that were nearby.
Eric Michelson believes his comeback will bring Hollywood to Orange County, with a 630,000-square-foot building and sound-proof features.
"Whether you succeed or not, the trying is the fun part. Everybody wants success, but failure is just as interesting as success," Michelson said.
He hopes to have the project completed in 18 months, after getting the city's approval.
