WHAT'S NEW: A cold front approaches, kicking off the potential for some thunderstorm activity. The threat for strong to severe storms has diminished, but some brief downpours and some breezy to gusty winds can be expected.
WHAT'S NEXT: The weekend ahead will be looking marvelous with temperatures around average. Possibility that some record highs will be challenged late next week.

OVERNIGHT: Showers fade early on with mostly cloudy skies to follow. Expect breezy, northwest winds from time to time, heading into Friday. Lows: Mid- to upper-40s.
FRIDAY: Mainly sunny, drier and with windy conditions at times. Highs: Mid- to upper 50s to low-60s. Lows: Mid-30s.
SATURDAY: A few passing clouds with lots of sunshine and pleasant temperatures. Highs: Low- to mid-50s. Lows: Low- to mid-30s.
