The Village of Millbrook Police Department has received nearly $165,000 in grants to help improve operations and technology, according to a department statement.

The largest sum, totaling $130,000, came from the New York State Law Enforcement Technology Grant. The funds will be used to modernize the department's technology, equipment, and operations to solve and prevent crimes more effectively.

The department also received $10,000 from the Police Protective Equipment Program for ballistic armor and $25,000 from the Division of Criminal Justice Services' Public Safety Grant for Livescans.
