A pair of mini therapy horses brought big smiles to residents at older adult community in Sleepy Hollow.
Long Island-based Horseability is a center for equine programs to help with people's physical, psychological and emotional well-being, and today they visited residents at Kendal on Hudson.
Margaret Ann Roth, a resident, says she has a passion for horses and was inspired to team up with Horseability to bring a different touch of joy and peace to her fellow residents after a long and challenging year during the pandemic. "They're the most important thing probably in my life. And when I discovered that a friend I ride with, she works with a place that had many therapy horses, I thought, I got to bring them. Everybody's got to play."
Pamela Klapproth, the CEO of Kendal on Hudson, tells News 12 that its resident-inspired activities like this that bring so much joy after a difficult year. She says the horses have uplifted the mood and that the smiles on the faces of the residents says it all.
