A Minisink High School staff member is now facing criminal charges for allegedly giving alcohol to a student.
State police arrested Heidi Mitchell-Skalski Thursday after the district reported the allegations of misconduct to police.
The Minisink staff member is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful dealing with a child involving alcohol.
Minisink Valley Central School District director of communications Nancy Kriz says an internal and police investigation is ongoing.
“The district is aware of a matter involving a member of its staff and a student and began an investigation, which also included working with law enforcement authorities so they could take action,” said Kriz in a statement to News 12.
Mitchell-Skalski was released on an appearance ticket to return to Greenville Town Court.
