A missing person was found dead in Brewster after deputies began a search following a report Tuesday evening.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said deputies and investigators conducted follow-up efforts to locate the person.

Around 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, the person was found dead in the woods near Eastview Court. The identity is being withheld until family members are notified.

The sheriff's office said the cause and manner of death have not yet been determined, but current evidence shows no indication of foul play and the death appears to be isolated.

The investigation remains ongoing.
