Monroe police say goodbye to retired K-9 Simba

Simba and his handler, Sgt. James Gayler, were the department’s first K-9 team.

The Monroe Police Department is saying goodbye to retired K-9 Simba, who recently passed away. 
Simba and his handler, Sgt. James Gayler, were the department’s first K-9 team.
In a Facebook post Monday, the department said they will miss giving Simba belly rubs and are grateful for his service to the community.
They said their thoughts and prayers are with Sgt. Gayler and his family during this difficult time.
