An Orange County teenager who plotted a Columbine-style attack on Monroe-Woodbury High School two years ago has committed suicide.
Michael Vanderclock, 17, told detectives he planned the attack because he was tired of being bullied. He was sentenced to 18 months in a psychiatric center.
Earlier this year, Monroe-Woodbury freshman Kameron Jacobson took his own life, after his family said he was bullied. Jacobson's death was just a little more than a week after another student, Justin Diminio, committed suicide.
Police say they did not find a note at the scene and there is an ongoing investigation into the case.
Vanderclock had just started at Riverview High School in Nyack and was taking career classes at Rockland BOCES. Grief counselors will be at the school tomorrow to help students and staff.
