A Bronx monsignor was elevated to bishop during a special ceremony in Manhattan today.
Monsignor John Jenik has been serving at Our Lady of Refuge Parish in the Bronx since 1985. He is well known in the community for his dedication to those seeking housing and for fighting crime and drugs.
Jenik was one of three New York church officials to be ordained today at St. Patrick's Cathedral.
