Mount Vernon coach inducted into hall of fame, cheerleaders headed to nationals

Bob Cimmino, the basketball coach at Mount Vernon High School, has been inducted into the Westchester Sports Hall of Fame.
Cimmino boasts an impressive record of 594 wins, marking the highest number of wins in Section One history. Under his leadership, his teams have secured eight state championships, solidifying his status as an influential figure in high school basketball.
Meanwhile, the Mount Vernon Girls Cheer Team is making history by heading to the national championships in Orlando for the second time in the school's history. Last year, News 12 documented their journey, and the team is wished the best of luck as they compete this year.
