Mount Vernon Emergency Management Office preps for storm
Officials are gearing up for massive rain fall in the Hudson Valley.

Mount Vernon officials from the Office of Emergency Management said they are locked in and monitoring the developments of this week's anticipated rainfall.
Michael Montes, the director of the office, said preparation is already underway.
He said his office works closely with the city's Department of Public Works whose workers are traveling around the city to check catch basins.
Montes added that his office is also collaborating with various public safety officials who are busy getting ready for the rainfall, too.
"We're working to make sure that we have the necessary resources and the necessary personnel on the [police department] side and on the fire [department] side to actually respond in the event of the storm that is approaching us," Montes said.
Yonkers offering sandbags to residents amid storm threat
Thomas Meier, the commissioner of Public Works for the City of Yonkers, said sandbags will be available to help residents out with the rain that is expected this week.
Meier says they will be available at the recycling center on Tuesday.
"The recycling center will be open late tomorrow, [it will] probably stay open [un]til about 7 p.m.," Meier said.
Meier added that sandbags will be available again on Friday to prepare for Saturday's anticipated rain.
