Mount Vernon joins list of cities requiring vaccines or COVID testing for municipal employees

The deadline for all city employees to provide proof of their vaccination status is Sept. 7.

Mount Vernon is the latest city in the Hudson Valley requiring that all municipal employees get vaccinated by early next month or get tested weekly.
The order comes as cases in the city have risen threefold in the past few weeks due to the delta variant.
The deadline for all city employees to provide proof of their vaccination status is Sept. 7.
Currently, Mount Vernon's vaccination rate stands at a little over 50%.
