Mount Vernon Man accused of second-degree murder

A Mount Vernon man is headed to court facing second-degree murder charges.

A Mount Vernon man is headed to court facing second-degree murder charges.

Police tells News 12 Heyward Bradshaw III was arrested on Sunday night in the Bronx.

He is accused of shooting and killing 41-year -old Kwasi Kirton, of Mount Vernon, late Friday night.
           
Officials say the two were involved in an altercation near South Third Avenue.

Bradshaw took out a semi-automatic handgun and fired several shots, investigators say.

Police found the 41-year-old victim with multiple wounds. 

He was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
