Mount Vernon man sentenced for 2020 fatal shooting

The Westchester District Attorney's Office says 45-year-old John Bobbitt was sentenced in the murder of 28-year-old Keyshawn Smith, of Mount Vernon.

A Mount Vernon man has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for a fatal shooting.
The Westchester District Attorney's Office says 45-year-old John Bobbitt was sentenced in the murder of 28-year-old Keyshawn Smith, of Mount Vernon.
Bobbitt shot Smith in April 2020 following a dispute on Millington Street in Mount Vernon.
Bobbitt was arrested three months later in Newark, New Jersey.
He was convicted of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
