The Mount Vernon community is gearing up to honor the life of Lamont 'Wise' Killian, a dedicated firefighter who passed away last Monday due to heart-related issues, according to fire officials.
Killian, aged 51, had been off duty since 2019 after collapsing while responding to a fire. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he suffered a heart attack, rendering him unable to return to work since that incident.
His wake is scheduled for tomorrow from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by the funeral on Friday. The viewing will commence at 10 a.m., with the service starting at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church.
