Mount Vernon school put in lockdown over threatening call
A Mount Vernon school was placed in lockdown Friday.
School officials put emergency procedures into effect at the Denzel Washington School for the Arts at Nellie Thornton School after an anonymous call came in around 11 a.m.
The Mount Vernon superintendent of schools say the threat was made against a particular person, but the entire school was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
Extra officers were also at dismissal Friday.
