MS-13 gang member pleads guilty to charges connected to murders of 3 men

An MS-13 gang member pleaded guilty to charges Tuesday in connection to the murders of three men.
Court filings say Jhonny Contreras participated in the murders of Derrick Mayes and Keenan Russel in May 2013 in Central Islip, as well as the 2015 murder of Cesar-Rivera Vasquez in Babylon.
All three men were killed after Contreras and other MS-13 members assumed they were members of rival gangs, according to court filings.
Contreras pleaded guilty to racketeering and firearms charges.
