The MTA approved Metro-North service to Penn Station for the very first time Wednesday.
Bronx, Westchester and Connecticut residents will see drastically cut-down commute times - saving East Bronx riders about 50 minutes in each direction to Penn Station.
Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., who spoke at the board meeting, says it's a win for the local economy by creating jobs around the new Metro-North stations.
The new stations will be in Parkchester, Co-Op City, Morris Park and Hunts Point. There is no official timetable for the project.
