The MTA has announced public transportation ridership is back with its best numbers since the pandemic began.
Prior to the pandemic, average weekday ridership across NYCT Subway, Metro-North and LIRR exceeded 5.5 million.
That number fell by 95% to a low of roughly 300,000 daily trips in April 2020 as the number of COVID-19 cases peaked in the New York City area.
