One person was stabbed and another slashed in New Rochelle late Wednesday night.
New Rochelle police say a fight broke out around 11 p.m. between workers from a valet company in the VIP Country Club parking lot on Davenport Avenue.
Officers arrived to find two victims, one with a laceration to his back and the other stabbed in the abdomen. They were both transported to a hospital for treatment.
The stabbing victim was taken into surgery and is currently listed in critical condition. The victim who was slashed on the back was treated and released.
New Rochelle police arrested Elijah Santiago, 25, of New York City, at the dead end of Davenport Avenue. Santiago has been charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
The suspect and the victims were all working as valets at the V.I.P Club and it is believed this incident stemmed from a dispute between the two victims and the suspect.
The club says it subcontracts out the work to the valet company and that the injured people were not club employees.
The VIP Country Club is a popular catering spot along the Sound Shore for weddings, proms and other parties.
