Police say a murder-suicide in New Windsor left an NYPD officer and her estranged husband dead and unfolded in front of the couple?s three kids and neighbors.
According to police, 38-year-old Griselda Espinal, who was a narcotics officer for the NYPD, was stabbed Friday by her estranged husband Francisco. The two were going through a divorce. Police say the husband then took his wife?s police-issued gun and shot her in the head. Neighbors say they heard a loud argument, then a scream accompanied by gunfire.
When police arrived at the scene Francisco was on the front lawn with the gun in his mouth. Neighbors say the couple?s three children, all under the age of 13, were begging their father to stop before he killed himself. The Espinal?s children are staying with family members.
