The NAACP is demanding the Town of Greenburgh replace a Black Lives Matter sign that was defaced in May by vandals.

The president of the White Plains/Greenburgh chapter of the NAACP, 32-year-old Janice Griffith, says that the organization also drafted an extensive resolution that details all the ways - from education, to housing, to policy - that the town should support its Black residents.

She says she wants the town board to adopt it right away.

Town Supervisor Paul Feiner says the town has every intention to replace the defaced sign, blaming the delay on the supply chain. He also says he's adamant on supporting the NAACP resolution.

The town board is expected to review the resolution next week.
