A wake was held Monday for a Nanuet teen who was hit by a NJ Transit train Friday while walking on the tracks with a friend.Connor Corish, 15, died Saturday. He attended the Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, N.J.
"I think that we're rallying together as a school," said Admissions Director and lacrosse coach Brian McAleer. "He was a little bit of a prankster, fun-loving kid," McAleer said of the lacrosse player.
A family friend said the Corishes are in a state of shock over the loss.
Corish's friend, 15-year-old Christopher Cipolli, remains in critical but stable condition at Westchester Medical Center. He was also injured in the accident.
According to investigators, the boys might not have seen or heard the train, which was traveling at 39 mph.
Corish's wake continues Tuesday. His funeral is Wednesday, May 14.
