Westchester County and other departments will mark National Police Week this week and pay tribute to officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
In addition, many departments are encouraging the public to stop by and meet some of the officers keeping the community safe.
There will be book giveaway events, car seat installations, safety checks and more.
On Wednesday, Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano and the police commissioner will team up to kick off recruitment for the 2021 police officer exam.
Then on Friday, people can check out the Police Museum for a hands-on display of Yonkers police history.
