After months of planning, The Ramapo Cultural Arts Center will open this weekend with a whole host of acts scheduled to perform.

The town of Ramapo purchased the building on Main Street, which used to house the Spring Valley movie theater. The center will house a 500-seat theater for concerts, movies and much more. The building will be home to many organizations such as the Haitian American Civic Association and Jamaican Cultural Association.

The opening of the arts center is considered the springboard that will launch Spring Valley?s revitalization. The mayor is planning new businesses and housing near the center.
