A family of six is homeless Monday after a fire destroyed a New City home.
The house on Woodhaven Drive was completely destroyed by the flames Saturday night. Police say one family member smelled smoke, saw the deck completely engulfed in flames and evacuated the home.
At least 90 firefighters from four fire departments fought the flames for approximately an hour. No one was injured in the fire, however, two family pets were killed.
The family is living in a hotel for the time being.
