A New City woman has been picked to compete in a nationwide reality show with talk-show host Kelly Ripa.

Karen McCombs, a real estate agent, is one of 12 inventors who believe they have a winning idea and will compete on a new show called "Homemade Millionaire." McCombs says she created a line of interchangeable dinnerware that she has dubbed "Switch a Dish." She believes the invention could revolutionize the way American families entertain and had it patented in 2005.

The episode of "Homemade Millionaire" featuring McCombs will air on the Discovery Health Channel on Christmas Eve.
