A new pilot program in Rockland County is enriching the lives of people with special needs.
Project Elevate is a new community class teaching vocational life skills to people with special needs.
The two-week program at Rockland Community College includes courses on fitness, first aid, cooking and cellphones.
"It's a wonderful experience -- lots of happy faces. We're so happy to be here at Rockland County Community College, and we're looking forward to our session in August," said Christina Bertocchi, of Project Elevate.  
The next course is Aug. 16-27.
