Iona University introduced Tobin Anderson Wednesday, one day after he was named the head coach of the men's basketball team.
Anderson is replacing Rick Pitino, who is now thecoach at St. John's.
"I want to take Iona basketball to a place it hasn't been," Anderson said. "I want our guys to know we have big goals here. We want to get to a Sweet 16. I told the guys this time next year, I don't want to be meeting, I want to be playing."
Before coming to Iona, Anderson led Fairleigh Dickinson University to a major upset last Friday when the No. 16 seeded Knights defeated No. 1 ranked Purdue in the NCAA opening round.
Anderson coached at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill prior to his time at FDU.
