One year after a deadly bus crash on I-84 in Orange County, the estate of the slain band director has filed a lawsuit against the bus company, driver and tire manufacturer.

The September 2023 crash occurred when a bus carrying students and teachers from Farmingdale High School on Long Island to a band camp overturned, killing the band director and a chaperone.

The lawsuit alleges that all three defendants contributed to the fatal crash.

The tire manufacturer declined comment, citing pending litigation. The bus company and driver have not responded.

More than a dozen lawsuits have already been filed in connection with the incident.
