A new map to help disabled subway riders get around in the Bronx and city is drawing mixed reviews Tuesday.
The new map includes larger print and shows which stations are handicap friendly. It also has information on all bus connections that are accessible. Some say the icons on the maps make it easier to find stations with elevators. But others say the map doesn't address the real problem, which is a lack of accessible stations. One resident says the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) should at least build ramps if elevators are too expensive.
Currently, the map is only available online. The MTA says it has also started distributing the map to senior centers and select stations.
