"The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" came to life Friday night in the village where the story is set with a fully immersive, frightening and exciting entertainment experience.
The theater adaptation of Washington Irving's iconic ghost story, "The Legend," incorporates a virtual clone of Irving who narrates his tale along with holograms and live-action aerial circus performers.
As many know, the 1800's story of the Headless Horseman takes place in Sleepy Hollow and follows Ichabod Crane, Katrina Van Tassel and Abraham Van Brunt in a haunting quest for love and fortune.
The show was made possible with a tourism grant from the state.
This has been a two-year project for Westchester Circus Arts Owner Hilary Sweeney.
"I'm just enchanted by how the legend is still alive and well in Sleepy Hollow and that we are part of retelling that story," Sweeney said.
Tickets can be bought online for $30 or at the door for $40. The tent holds about 200 people per show.
The show continues on weekends from until Oct. 16.
