A New Rochelle house sustained damage when a two-alarm fire broke out earlier this morning.
The New Rochelle Fire Department reported that the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. at 4 Tall Trees Road.
New Rochelle Fire Chief Andrew Sandor says the fire originated outside the house and spread to the attic. Significant damage was observed on one side of the house, with partial damage to the roof near the chimney and solar panels. The two homeowners managed to evacuate safely.
Sandor says his crews were able to put the flames out quickly. "Had to go to a second alarm for manpower to fight the fire, and they did a good job actually," says Sandor. "They saved a lot of the house, which is a good thing."
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
