The New Rochelle Police Department announced one of its lieutenants is now suspended for allegedly tampering with evidence.

The department says the lieutenant may have deliberately mishandled evidence during a drug investigation that led to an arrest.

The department is now asking the district attorney’s office to review footage from the body camera worn by the lieutenant and to dismiss the charges against the individual who was arrested.
