Crowds gathered in New Rochelle Sunday to honor their deceased loved ones in the annual cultural celebration of "Dia de los Muertos."
Revelers wore colorful outfits, elaborate masks and makeup and danced to Mexican music during the celebration.
The annual event is important for Mexican families who welcome back the souls of their deceased as honored guests.
With a large Mexican population in Westchester County, this first celebration in New Rochelle is expected to become an annual event in the community.
