Applications have opened up for
New York's Excelsior Scholarship, which allows eligible full-time students to attend a SUNY or CUNY two-year or four-year college tuition-free.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that applications for the scholarship were open for the 2021-2022 scholar year.
Eligibility for the scholarship falls under those with a household federal adjusted gross income of $125,000 and under.
Student must also plan to attend a SUNY or CUNY two- or four-year college, complete 30 credits per year toward their program, be on track to graduate on time with an associate degree in two years or a bachelor's degree in four years and must plan to live in New York for the length of time they receive the award.
State officials say nearly 230,000 New York residents attend CUNY or SUNY tuition-because of the scholarship.
