Newburgh police have identified the 7-year-old boy whose death earlier this month prompted an investigation into possible abuse.

Peter Cuacuas died earlier this month from suspected starvation and abuse, officials say.

His death is still under investigation. No charges have been filed.

An official source told News 12 that his autopsy revealed severe malnutrition.
