A Newburgh barber says his own initiative to get
at-risk youth off the street is now a huge success, after News 12’s report on
his efforts this week
Joey Caban, known as "Joey Da
Barber," says since his story aired Monday he's had as many as seven
teens reach out to apprentice at his shop in Vails Gate.
Caban is offering to train kids for free,
provide their clipper kits and pay for their licensing under his "Clippers
Not Guns" initiative.
He started a
GoFundMe to help cover expenses for
all interested kids.
