An EMT in the City of Newburgh is asking for help during his own medical crisis.
Emmanuel Vasquez, 26, works for Mobile Life.
The Central Valley man was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in April.
His mother, Angela Accomando, says Vasquez will undergo surgery later this month to remove the tumor and then undergo radiation - requiring him to be out of work for weeks. She started a GoFundMe to help him.
"We don't know after the surgery and radiation what else is ahead," said Accomando. "The doctor is really trying to get us to focus on that so every little bit counts."
The GoFundMe page has raised more than $11,000 to help.
