Newburgh man in intensive care unit after pool accident

Newburgh town police are investigating what they are calling an accidental near drowning at a backyard pool.

Police and paramedics were called to a home on Stacy Lee Drive just before 5:30 Sunday evening.

Investigators say they arrived to find a 33 year old man who wasn't breathing.

Emergency crews immediately administered CPR to the victim, who was then rushed to Montefiore Saint Luke's Hospital for lifesaving treatment.

Police say the man, whose name has not been released, is alive and currently in ICU.
