A Newburgh man was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted burglary and aggravated family offense.
Carlos Flores-Banegas entered into the home of a former intimate partner in violation of an order of protection back in December 2022.
The victim was able to get out of the apartment and lock Flores-Banegas inside.
Flores-Banegas, however, fled from the apartment before police arrived.
He then allegedly returned to the home in January and proceeded to assault the victim before he fled once again.
