Police in the city of Newburgh are investigating an apparent double homicide after the bodies of two men were discovered in an abandoned home last night.
Officers were on Liberty Street in the Washington Heights section of the city on a missing persons report when they noticed a vehicle belonging to a missing person parked in front of a house.
The officers discovered the home was abandoned and, upon entering the premises, found the bodies of two men with several gunshot wounds.
Sources tell News 12 the victims are a former police officer and his nephew, but police have not confirmed the information and have not released their names.
