Newburgh police officers tell News 12 Hudson Valley that they are concerned about the condition of their building.
In addition to exterior damage, the ceilings leak and the locker room has been closed because of mold problems.
"We're going to need a new building eventually, but we're the ones who have to stay here and stay professional," says PBA President Mike Pitt. "Morale is terrible."
City Manager Michael Ciaravino says the building has been left in disrepair for too long and that something has to be done. By the end of the month, he says he plans to have something done about the mold in the locker rooms.
Ciaravino says plans are being discussed for short-term and long-term repairs. City officials are deciding whether to build a new police building or pay $700,000 for all the repairs.
