Board officials approved the $1.5 million loan in a vote Monday night.
It will help meet payroll and financial obligations over the next year.
Library officials laid out the plan to save the library on Monday night that included a schedule to pay off the amount to be borrowed.
Library officials assured that current employees will not be laid off, but they will not be filling four vacant job positions.
Village officials also raised concerns about the burden on taxpayers, which library officials say will not impact the village budget.
The library is still deciding on borrowing all at once versus increments to allow them to reevaluate the budget periodically.
Mamaroneck Library plans to meet with their forensic auditors starting next Tuesday and post the progress for the public on the library website.
