Ted Nolan's brief run as coach of the NewYork Islanders has ended.
Nolan and general manager Garth Snow decidedNolan should not return for a third season behind the bench.
The Islanders scheduled an afternoon news conference Monday.Snow will begin an immediate search for Nolan's replacement.
There had been a growing rift between Nolan and Snow throughoutlast season when the Islanders failed to make the playoffs. Snowsaid he felt the team was underachieving while Nolan countered thathe lacked adequate personnel.
