North Castle police are urging residents to be aware of potential car thefts as New Year’s Day approaches.

New Year’s Day is one of the most active days for car thefts, according to the Insurance Information Institute.

Police say residents should make sure their cars are locked and keep the windows closed. They also recommend parking in well-lit areas and using anti-theft devices if possible.
