A mandatory water conservation is going into effect for parts of Westchester County next week.
Northern Westchester Joint Water Works is urging their customers to conserve water. From July 12 to Oct. 12, residents at even-number addresses may water lawns only on even-numbered days. Odd-numbered addresses on odd-numbered days.
According to Northern Westchester Joint Water Works, the water capacity issues are due to construction at the Amawalk Water Treatment Facility -- reducing capacity by 25%.
Also, they say there is a 40% consumption increase due to more people working from home during the pandemic.
